Aptus FonB
The Phonebook Solution For Asterisk – Aptus FonB is a software product soon to be released by Aptus Telecom, developed to integrate contacts from Google Contacts, Highrise CRM, and Mobile Devices to bring all the contacts right in your Asterisk IP Phone. So your entire company can work from a single, unified phonebook, while still maintaining the privacy of personal contacts, on an individual level.
Aptus FonB has been designed to integrate yet clearly differentiate between four different types of 'Contacts': Google Contacts, My Contacts, Highrise CRM Contacts, and Internal Extensions, making them all available on your Asterisk IP Phone. Privacy features ensure that all imported contacts are made private by default (unless they are already included in or later added to Highrise). And Google Contacts can be securely imported by individual users who have the power to ‘revoke access’ at any time, either from within Google or FonB.
Aptus FonB plays 'a bridge role' between Asterisk and 37Signal’s Highrise CRM with Highrise CRM Integration. Users can make split-second calls, view the history of a single contact, review call notes and recordings, plus more via their own clean, familiar FonB account interface.
As well, managers can easily review both internal and external calls made by their sales and customer service teams with FonB’s 'Call History' along with associated recordings and Highrise Notes. The simplicity of Call History should make it more accessible to Non-IT users than the typical complicated Call Recording Server.
Also included in the Aptus FonB feature set is the Active Calls Panel, which provides real-time information about active calls at a user’s extension. Users can start calls from their IP Phone, yet manage every aspect of the call using the Active Calls Panel: putting calls on hold or into conference, transferring calls, or hanging up. Plus, active calls can be seamlessly switched between devices — go from mobile phone to web phone to IP phone without interrupting your call.
Other notable features of Aptus FonB include the automatic rewrite of imported contact numbers (based on rewrite rules you provide), inbound number lookup using the unified company phonebook (fewer ‘unknown callers’), personal contact privacy protection (not even managers can review names of your personal contacts), stable webphone (calls remain active, even if you accidentally close the browser tab), plus more.
