How to Call India
There are several ways to make calls to India, which is located in southern Asia. You can make calls to India using softphone apps such as Skype or Rebtel for a very low rate per minute. If you want to do it for free, then it would require the person on the other end of the line to have the application as well. There are also other ways to dial India from a landline in the United States. If you are using a regular cell phone or telephone service and do not have free long distance on your phone plan, then you will most likely incur high rates when calling internationally.
How to Call India from the USA or Canada
- First dial "011" from any United States phone number. "011" is the exit code to dial out of the USA or Canada.
- Then dial "91" which is the India country code
- Then dial the Indian telephone number

- The "11" above is the area code for Delhi
How to Call a cell phone in India
- Calling a mobile phone in India is different than calling a landline phone number
- To call a India cell phone, dial 011 + 91 + ?# #### #### where "?" is either 7, 8, or 9 depending on the cell number
