ANI2

ANI2 is a 2 digit code that indentifies what kind of phone line a call is being placed from.

Common ANI2 codes are:
  • 00 = Ordinary POTS call - not payphone
  • 01 = Party line
  • 02 = ANI Failure
  • 27 = Payphone with network provided coin control
  • 70 = Payphone without network provided coin control

This code is also known as:

In SIP messaging, this code is usually included as 'isup-oli' parameter in the 'From' header:

(Some older implementations might use expired http://www.softarmor.com/wgdb/docs/draft-rocky-sipping-calling-party-category-01.txtIETF proposal for including this code in a new SIP P-CPC header.)
